Jaime has been teaching English for the last twenty years, mostly in Independent Schools. As an English major at Dickinson College, Jaime cultivated her belief in the importance of reading as well as a passion for writing creatively. She has taught a variety of courses including American Literature, Contemporary World Literature, ESOL, Non-Fiction and Creative Writing, and Film Studies. In 2019, Jaime completed her M.F.A. in Literature and Non-Fiction at Bennington College’s Writing Seminars. This program’s model, “Read One Hundred Books, Write One,” highlights, for Jaime, the significant overlap between the processes and practices of being a reader and writer. In the classroom, Jaime enjoys helping students develop an appreciation for reading, confidence in writing, and a lifelong commitment to learning and curiosity.
